With the scout 2 shots will kill the opponent 95% of the time.

And yes, the deagle and ak are also very powerfull weapons (though accurate for shorter distances than the scout is).

My problem with the AWP is the 100% guaranteed one shot kill.

When is the last time you tried it? It's a much weaker weapon than it used to be. Now you need a headshot to guarantee that kill. And IRL, that gun should be plenty to finish someone with a brain shot.

I've played it regularly over the past few weeks.

Scout is not very weak! just 2 shots in most of the bodyparts for a kill...

and AWP definately is not just headshot for single-shot kill. It's almost all bodyparts except perhaps legs/arms.

most (all?) guns do single-shot kills with a headshot.

When I used to play I usually stuck with the AK. As long as you don't use it as a machine gun it's wickedly effective. Just aim and tap the fire button a couple of times, and the target is guaranteed dead. I lost count of the number of times I was accused of cheating because my kill/death ratio was like 30-1. Damn fun though.

Maybe I should fire it up again sometime, although I'll probably be awfully rusty.

Actually I'm a newbee to the game, like extremly new to the game. (2 whole days, but already I love it!!) I need much practice to get my skill up; does anyone know of a good newbee server that i could get my skills honed on???

Last I played, the TMP didn't kill with a headshot, if the target had a helmet. I remember I used to charge at people with a TMP and then give them three shots in the face, heh. It was funny because I killed them with the weakest gun in the game
