    thousens years ago european neanthertals are taken away by a superior breed : homo-sapiens, coming from Afrika.

    Nature is wise, maybe current occidental people will be defeated by oriental ones. Just a thing to be aware of, when you look at the inmigrants you should think that at least they are as good as you, perhaps they are the new superior breed. Time will tell. Until then we should learn to live in peace.

        just saying that inmigration is a problem but we have been moving around the world since the start of live. Before people move to find food or warmer weather, now for jobs/money.
        When someone moves to a new place needs time to assimilate all the changes, if we try to put preassure on them to be like us nothing good can happen.

        sorry if I didn't express myself properly, lack of english skills and an horrible mood are my excuses.

          No, Ivan - we're saying that ... *sigh*

          We are all agreeing that tolerance is good. I think you just missed any sarcasm and/or intentional righteous indignation that we may have been displaying.

          ... and now that I read that paragraph immediately above this one, I realize that it too may be difficult for a non-english speaker to understand.

          To quote Inigo Montoya:

          Let me explain. No, that would take too long. Let me sum up.
          Tolerance = GOOD.
          Intolerance = BAD.

          Intolerance, when done for comic effect and/or to express indignation... or whenever I personally use it = GOOD.

            thanks Gurm,

            Now I see I missed something in the thread. Anyway thank you for explaining it to me instead of drop fire into a non native-english mini-murcer

            cheers,

              Now, they just assume you mean illiterate migrant workers from Mexico or escapees from Cuba.

              I've often found it somewhat ironic that some of my family thinks of some immigrants (in this case the hispanic and arabian ones) in the way they do, given that our ancestry is that of immigrants (Irish and Scottish with a touch of Dutch, excluding the Native American blood for obvious reasons).

              For my part the only immigrants I have issues with are those, here in the US, that feel like they have a right to be here without paying any tribute/respect to this country (this would apply to anyone living in another country). I could go into a rant here, but I won't because... well it would be a rant

              With that said I do feel that a better understanding of other races, cultures, religions, and indeed even the opposite sex is definately needed.

                HOWEVER... and I think people will verify this... it's a bit out of character for me to be nice to you in the way I have. Next time it'll be a big ol' FEKKIE SPEKKIE. *grin*

                  At the risk of sounding racist... hell what am I saying I'm considered a racist sexist pig simply because I'm a white male... but that is a major two way street. It shouldn't be just whitey male that is having to be the one to do the understanding.

                    Bingo.

                    I "understand" Islam just fine.

                    In fact, I understand it better than most Islamics, apparently.

                    It's their turn to understand - especially since it's MY ****ING COUNTRY.

                      That was my whole point. Just like you I'm tired of being expected, as a white (male), to understand and respect others while they do little to understand or respect me (us). If it's just in reference to a single person then it's really not an issue, however when it seems to be a problem with at least a semi-majority of a group, then yes, it's an issue I take offense to.

                      Indeed this isn't just a problem for whites, but for the US in general, as everyone looks to blame and degrade this country. What makes this even worse is that some of these people live here and take advantage of all that the US has to offer, for example our network of universities.

                        And most of what people want to take advantage of was founded and built up by white males, when they were actually getting support from white females. Our Grandmothers understood their roles as partners in a relationship.. now women are just a bunch of spoiled brats who think they are smarter and better than men in every way, that we are some sort of subhuman children who need to be taken care of. They think we need their permission to do anything at all.. and it's basically our fault for letting them take over. Now, every woman does not fit this profile, but too many men AND women have allowed it to become a pattern, and it is a destructive one that holds no hope for happiness for either partner.

                            If I were married it would be for love, and I would hardly be so bitter, now would I?

                            Seriously, for me it would be impossible to get to the intimacy stage with a bossy feminist. When women try to be the boss, they throw away their real power and wind up in misery. One woman struck upon some real wisdom for modern women and wrote about how she finally found happiness here. There's nothing wrong or demeaning in being a real woman.
