By trian, economy class, it's about 700$ minimum from Ontario to BC (round trip). 4 day trip
From Montreal to Toronto (600km) it's 130$ minimum. 6 hour trip
It would be a lot cheaper by bus, but I would rather take my car.

Another good thing about our railways is that Virgin suddenly decide they're going miss out stations so if you want X station get out now and find your own way.
Does that happen anywhere else??

At least they make it somewhere.
The last train trip that I went on we had had trains crash and not make it to the station twice*!

Trains in the Uk are old and worse than the ones in Spain. London buses in the other hand are really awesome, at least their drivers have the balls to go thru the traffic jam, a couple of times I was scared of the way the driver was driving, it was so agressive! but effective.
If you want to see a mess of public transport visit Rome or Athensepox 8RDA+ running an Athlon XP 1600+ @ 1.7Ghz with 2x256mb Crucial PC2700, an Adaptec 1200A IDE-Raid with 2x WD 7200rpm 40Gb striped + a 120Gb and a 20Gb Seagate, 2x 17" LG Flatron 775FT, a Cordless Logitech Trackman wheel and a banding enhanced Matrox Parhelia 128 retail shining thru a Koolance PC601-Blue case window
and for God's sake pay my site a visit!

Just the way you have to drive in London. The one who hestitates gets dints. If you see a dinted car keep well away.

I think some rails connect but I don’t know where.
We went to Quebec by train once, but we took a taxi from Detroit to Windsor.
