I am so sick of the term "racism." This is about defending one's homeland from foreign invaders who want to wipe out one's whole people and culture in favor of their own. Such a thing is right and noble and proper from every possible reasonable standpoint. Those who stand by and try to make things out to be otherwise are, to say the very least, confused. I think I ought to jump in in support of Wombat here.

Let's put this in some context. The North London Mosque has been right on the periphery (if in at all) of popular Muslim sentiment in the UK (as far as I, as a non-Muslim, can gather) ever since Abu Hamza effectively strong-armed his way in there, and the congration taken from local muslims has dwindled. It has instead become a focus for more extremist muslims from a much wider area (like, across a lot more than just London or even the UK).

The security services in Britain have had their eye on Hamza for a long long time, and I am sure knew and know exactly what he is doing at any moment in time, along with his followers (and some of his sons). This raid will have been the result of specific intelligence.

The police do have to be very careful when raiding a religious establishment for exactly the same reason that people here are saying "bloody muslims". A raid on catholic church, harbouring criminals, in a predominantly muslim country, would provoke a similar reaction amongst Christians as we are seeing now from some Muslims - hence the sensitivity. Just as there are prejudiced christian people, there are prejudiced muslims, jews, buddhists, confuscians, dao-caoists, hindus, sikhs, and the rest.

Not really true there has been attacks on churches by Muslims (Not every Muslim) and this has gone relatively unreported. A fact that a Muslim friend found very amusing and said "You lot don't care very much about your religon"

The comment Bah friggin stupid Muslims is refering no doubt to the muslims saying that raid was based on racism. Since the people complaining were Muslim I can't see it racist. If it said bad stupid Christians no comment would have been forth coming.

The problem is a small group of people are trying destroy this country and others. Any attempt to arrest and remove these people from our society is considered racist by some. Some Muslims find it incredoulous that we don't do anything against these poeple.

Haven't you every heard of the term "mob mentality"??? Which bascially means that an individuals in a mob will tend to do something that they would not normally do on their own. In this case the religious leaders are using their religious faith to stir them to action for Hilter and the German people it was national pride.

I mean think about it for a minute. How many times have we heard Bin Ladin and people like him call on the whole of the Muslim people to rise up againist the US and it's allies saying it was their religous duty????

Airlines are stopping MY GRANDMOTHER (true story) in case she might be carrying some weapon. She's 70. The only weapon she has is her license (you should see the way she drives)! When they stopped her, they let three guys with turbans, sandals, sunglasses, and knapsacks get on the plane (true story).

WHY ARE WE SO ****ING CONCERNED WITH NOT OFFENDING THE MUSLIMS?

If a bunch of right-wing Christian nutbags claimed, in the name of all Christianity, that they were performing acts of terror, and then crashed some planes into Parliament... I would expect Christians around the world to be in horror, and to be MORE than willing to submit to a little extra scrutiny.

But HEAVEN FORBID we offend a group of people who HATE us. Here's a clue. Every muslim in the world ALREADY WANTS US EITHER DEAD OR GONE.

Let's stop worrying about offending them.
