Whew, Gurm needs some "me time" I think.

Naw Kooldino, Gurmy doesn't need any "me time", he needs a reality check. Every year gets his rocks off whining (yawn) about the SB (any Pro sport) because of the the high saleries and reccognition players are awarded, to people he has stereotyped as being neanderthals... and to insult half a nation.

      All hail the KING!

Hey, I'd be happier insulting an ENTIRE nation, like I get to do during World Cup time!

At least Soccer players can READ.

I haven't made any stereotypes. I repeatedly state that I would WELCOME someone proving me wrong. Find me a smart football player. Go on.

Well, everyone is predicting a very tight game, but I am going to go the other way. The raiders offensive line is so huge, the other team usually gets tired by half time which is why we blow out the teams in the second half. Warren Sapp is going to get double teamed all day and he usually gives up once he realizes there is nothing he can do. Tampa is going to blitz a lot which will be there fall. Garner will be a key player during blitzes. And last, Raiders defense will force atleast 1, maybe 2 turnovers which will decide the game if it is close or make sure it's a blow out if it's not.

              31-17 Raiders

No one seems to know where he is. Possibly a hospital.

uhoh.. without their starting center they could be in trouble. People underestimate the importance of a great offensive line, but it is the foundation of a great team. Dallas had a great run in the early 90s, built on the offensive line. The Raiders in the 70s were a force because of their offensive line. Stabler and Aikman were not terribly mobile, nor were they quick with their releases.. if those big guys hadn't been there to help them out, they couldn't have done much of anything. My local HS team had a killer offensive line in 92 and won state with them. They had a pair of running backs with over 1000 yards apiece. You shoulda seen this guy we had as a guard. He was a 6'7, 320 pound HS SENIOR. Defenders ran from this guy, He would just take off downfield with the back behind him and level everyone in his way. It was unreal.

I gotta disagree with Gurm. Football players need at least a certain level of intelligence to be successful, particularly quarterbacks. I would like to see you try to remember a few dozen different plays, know which one to call when, understand all your personnel, read the defense, be quick enough to change the call at the line of scrimmage, lead a receiver perfectly, and all while 5 or 6 huge guys are trying to jump all over you. Watch Rich Gannon today. He deserves more respect than you give him. Now basketball players.. hmm.. dunno about them.

The thing is I don't honestly believe they do all of this. Maybe the quarterbacks, but none of the others. Like I said - find me ONE team captain that actually talks about all this strategy that you claim is in each football game. Please. Just one. I keep asking peopl efor this - in real life and online. They keep repeating "so and so is smart", and I say "prove it" and they say "well he is!".

                          SHOW ME.

Dunno. Interview, or transcript thereof. Something they've written (that can be verified as being BY THEM, unlike most of the college work they did - which was bought and paid for by the team). ANYTHING... other than some other sports-dork saying "they be edumificatabed!"
