Anyone in Canada making over 60,000 gets hit with 40% income tax tax.
After you get your income tax deducted and you use your money to buy something you get hit with a 8% provincial and 7% federal goods and sevice tax. Tax on gasoline is roughly 40%.
So in other words, if you add all the f'n taxes up you are well above the 40% mark.
Being self employed, I do have some benefits, but I do believe we are one of the most taxed nations in the world.Yeah, well I'm gonna build my own lunar space lander! With blackjack aaaaannd Hookers! Actually, forget the space lander, and the blackjack. Ahhhh forget the whole thing!Comment

For the last 10+ years we've paid 0% plus we get ~$5,000 USD back every year due to various tax credits.

Ahh but don't forget Japan is user pays, on top of that i have to pay my health insurance, unemployment insurance, state taxes etc etc. so in reality it works out closer to about 23%
