        Several new aircraft, including Boeings unmanned fighter prototype, use electroluminescent panels to match the aircrafts coloration/brightness/gross pattern to that of the background.

        Not too different than the illumination techniques used to camoflage a few ships during WWII from submarines, but animated and much more advanced.

        BTW: ships so equipped during WWII were never hit by a torpedo because ofr the problems it caused the subs ranging systems.
