sasq, maybe you should make a poll.

paypal is no option for me, postal order - dunno about international fees, cheque - not available for me.

electronic bank transfer would be an option (despite the fees..) - or somebody who could collect the money in austria / germany.

I'd just like to narrow down the options first.
As some Australians asked earlier, if I could collect and then send as one lump (the dollar is low and if everyone sends in pieces it takes a big chunk out of the donation).

I'll post a poll in a while, just want to see if anyone has any other ideas

Pretty much any form of payment works for me. SO whatever people decide on I'll go along with.

p.s. been around since early '97 when I was student (bio) and I sometimes asked Ant about how things r in this field.

here is a small attachment of an e-mail I once sent cause the murc page refused to load, with some help from all of us I hope the murc page will keep on loading for many more years.. (addiction baby!! )

However I know being seen to be financed by Matrox themselves would effectively end the independant stance of MURC, which none of us really want.

So, if like Technoid and latterly Thop suggested, the site has banner adverts that you have to be a paying, registered member to avoid, there's nothing to stop Big M registering a number of corporate users, is there?
I don't think Advertisers would like that as they like too annoy everyone.
There must be over a thousand registered users here so the amount you'be chipping in would be very small. If we gave two pounds or more Ant maybe able to shop around a bit.

Willing to chip in anything from 20-50 € if it's possible to send/transfer the money

This place has been great for support, and great to lurk around, I read here every day.
When I was still a kid, my parents got me a Packard Bell. I've never been happier. Now it's degraded to a foot support.

I'd prefer the cash in a letter approach too.

                              Ant
Is it a big problem, if we send our money using our own currency (€, $, ...) or should we change our money to english pounds before sending it?
In that case the only way for me to send the money to you is to go to a bank and have the money transferred directly to your bank account (or to your bank), I think.

I wouldn't be averse to sending an extra 5% for you to pay the exchange fee.

You know, we could do a fund drive like public television does every year, the month before your payment comes due. Run a thread on it and keep everyone up to date on whether we've reached our goal yet.
