  • iFrame ads

I really like the new donation ad, and I generally support the idea of ads, but I don't like the iFrame ads we have now: Opera lets me scroll them using the wheel, so whenever I use the wheel to scroll down a thread and the mouse pointer ends up over the iFrame, I scroll the iFrame and stop scrolling the thread page, which is annoying.

In Firefox it pauses for a moment to scroll inside the frame, but when the frame gets to its limits the page resumes scrolling.

I think it might be enough to just make the margins in the ad html stylesheet smaller, so that there is no need (and no chance) to scroll it. Or to just make the iFrame a few pixels higher.

JPI, yes, it is the same in Opera, still it's annoying, and (see above post) I think easy to fix

the html in the smile ads was just a quick wip from Jesterzwild.

Sadly the iframes are not my choice, and there is nothing I can do about them, as they are generated by google

Could you make the iFrame for the google ads one px higher? If I understand correctly, you put an iframe in your html and google serves the ad html page? The google ad iframe is not high enough by one pixel here, and the admin smile iframe by ~10.

actually I just add a small snippit of JS, google does the rest. and by contractual obligation I am not allowed to cange it - I have to use the generated scripts from my CP at google.

However, I suspect it has a great deal to do with the ugly ugly html on these pages - nope not my doing, vb2 html is evil.

IF you can be patient, more time I spend on the test forum, sooner I can get it moved over.
