  • Duplicate post

What's with the latest changes to duplicate postings? I deleted a post and tried to repost the message but I was given a five minute repost warning and was unable to make the post for awhile. The post timeout (before edit message gets appended) also was suddenly greatly shortened. Did you get tired of my deletions.

This is really bothersome. I get duplicate post warnings with a five minute lock-out even after the duplicate post has been deleted from the thread. I have to wait five minutes to post my message in its proper place (thread branch).

then stop posting exactly the same thing, and just edit

I have changed nothing, but your post still exists, just not viewable, but the duplicate check is still running for posts within that thread.

There are times when I want to repost to a different thread branch and you can't edit that change.

When are you going to decide about threads?

remind me of that after i move the server.

the double post timeout is to stop accidental double clicks, or if there is a time out isse somewhere, and a resubmition.

just put some random characters at the top of the post, post it and imediatly edit it to remove the characters, that should get around the time out.

            I'll do that.

Yeah yeah, my brain will get enough caffine to wake up and work out how to preset everyone to threaded mode maybe today.

Got some other things I am working on with the new server as well

Hey it was a slow day for the rest of us on MURC so I had to post something.

Mix a little booze with that caffeine and enjoy.

Are thread branches here to stay? They need some work still.

Sigh ... this restriction can be so tiresome at times. I hate having to hang around five minutes in order to relocate my post.
