  • Another thing about Matrox at e3

    http://www.techextreme.com/#188

Stay tuned for something interesting from Matrox that most people haven't even thought of using a videocard for. I'm really excited by what Matrox might be doing. Unfortunately, I can't discuss it at the moment.

    so let's start the rumors

my bet is a PHYSICS Gpu
    or something similar

Or even better... it has an eletro-gravitational flux field that utilizes all the ram in the area (10 square meters) using nanowave links... Thus overcoming the bandwidth limitation inherent in todays memory arcitecture.

Oh and it also has a cup holder big enough to hold a slurpee

                  About the Game physics Gpu

I remember this thing on a local Tv station ( Quebec )
I think it was ubisoft talking about a graphic card controlling Game Physics

this would work with displacement mapping and other calculations similar to this

Not all things relate to gaming, Muted.
They might just have something they are workin with that will be entirely NON-game related, and will appeal to a much larger user base

My GF2 had a setting like that... what it did was slow down the rendering speed in Tomb Raider to the point where the model is rendered onscreen and then the clothing were added a short time there after... too bad the output is so fuzzy because I couldn't tell if s/he was a fe/male

PS.. ever seen a tiger without its skin

                          Sorry.. lame joke..

I guess this is where the Fusion name comes from thats been reported in the drivers! Should be pretty intresting when ever this card comes out!

You're right. It must be the fusion thingy..
I only hope it will be on the G550.

Why don't we start the fusion speculation again

I think there are multiple possibilities:
                              - Onboard sound
                              - Onboard network interface (Matrox also produces thingies)
                              - Onboard printerport (that will be 'real' WYSIWYG)
                              - Onboard Alarm (when computers moves it produces a very loud beep)
                              - Onboard fax/modem
                              - Hardware Amiga emulator
                              - Onboard game controller
