Hey, Diablo II is STILL a great game, the only problem I have with the graphics is that it won't run properly on my p166MMX

But I wait longingly for the Xpack - and then there'll be 800x600 for all you people whining about the bad graphics (I think they look great with glide, though ).

Ah and to make this not entirely off-topic, I'll get a G550 if it is released on time to get into my new system and if it's faster than a Gf 2 MX, AND if the price is right *g

If its got 64-bit DDR, then no. 64-bit sucks too much to handle any appreciable bandwidth, even if you crank the clock speed up.

If its got 128-bit DDR, then maybe. I'll have to see some reviews and stuff first.

I bought a Kyro2 the other week and have found myself not very addicted to 3D speed. I could have done well with a G450. I have found myself having a difficulty to sit down and play games lately for longer periods of time (>30min).

So the answer to if I'm going to buy the next card regardless of speed is a big...YES!!!

Novdid: I seriously doubt you would've done well with a G450, as its slower than a G400 vanilla in most cases. That KyroII was probably a good choice.

I probably will, but surely not for gaming. It'll be to replace this beautiful G400/RR-G combo that some numbskull in Matrox Management rendered obsolete. No Win2K drivers means no go. It's almost as bad as Microsoft's forced upgrades. You've gotta buy the newest (most expensive) product to get any support. Bah. >:-{

Isn't the rumor that all RRG support is being dropped by future Matrox cards? If so, the Marvel is the only option, which takes forever to release...

They more I think about it, and through many years of experience with different cards from different comapnies, Matrox gives me the sneaking suspicion, that they might make some immediate and wild change, like dump their regular video card lines and just go corporate, or corp. and High End Video, or some combination, and just leave the home user cold. it could ahppen, they are acting weird over the last 6 months. Or, Maybe it's my bad mood right now, because of the drivers I didn't get that would help me with all these crappy drivers I am putting up with right now. These companies make these changes without notice, and ya never know, when we wake up tomorrow our cards and support may be forver gone.

Huh? If you're looking for MX-performance, then why not take a KyroI? The KyroII is much faster than the MX, often even faster than the Geforce2GTS and the Radeon64DDR.

value card, only thing i sometimes miss
is dualhead. but when playing games with
full graphics 32bit +60fps (not 600x400), well....
