Kruzin, you can stop it now

If this is indeed the truth (and it seems so, much too much text and pictures to be fake), and this card comes EARLY Q3 (by which I mean July), I'll buy it.

Looks like the MURC chats will look different from now on

hmm headcasting i wonder if they can fine tune it to so that instead of simulating what you head is doing to what your eyeballs are looking at or direction or even use it to render more realistac 3d models in an online universe??

AZ - Me too. But I will wait for the first reviews ...

Maybe one of the BBs can tell us something about the real speed @ 1024 x 768 x 32 Bit ? What about the overclockability ?

Compared to my good old G400 with 16MB RAM, it will be an upgrade in speed anyway. I think my gaming speed suffers tremendously from the little amount of RAM that I have at the moment ...

hmm on the surface it isnt much but I am in the mood for a new matrox or kyroII card so I can give the g400 to my bro
but from that german site I think games will be able to take advantage of the head casting ability and ive played Asherons call and the one complaint is that people look the same, this will cure that from happening
hehe stores will have help avatars that will look more real, chatrooms will be more lively
even long distance medical appointments might be easier to implement by reducing the bandwidth needed very cool when you think about it

            Yeah, me too

EVERYTHING will be a speed upgrade from my current iP166MMX@183 w/ 64 MB EDO (YAY!) on a good ol' ASUS p55t2p4 w/ 512 KB pipelined burst cache, a Matrox Millennium 4 MB and a Diamond Monster 3D II, all @ 75 MHz FSB

Yeah, I'm with Kruzin on this one. First thing I did when I saw the topic "The G550 is here!!!" is jump to the Matrox site to look for something. Came up empty-handed. But if this card can at least reach GF2 MX levels in performance I'll get myself one, and upgrade the rest of my system as well! Mmm, dual Athlons...

But I keep to my original statement: If it is slower than a GF2 MX I have to think it over ...

I don't intend to be mean, but how can you be disappointed when the card sounds like it's going to live up to all the recent rumours?

Sure, I was being optimistic and hoping for maybe evern KyroII perfermance, but was being realistic in thinking that's not going to happen till the next card (the one rumoured for a late '01 release), based upon what the rumour mill's been saying.

I myself would be pleased with GF2 MX performance right now, so can't wait to see the first benchmarks. As long as it's a step forwards (regardless of how big) for gaming, as opposed to the small step backwards that the G450 was.

O.K., Haig has made it public. Can any of the BBs tell us:

                                - if they have the card
                                - how it performs
                                - if it is overclockable ??
