            • Knirfie, now you've skipped 2 days already... (Note that [GDI]Raptor's post was posted much earlier in the day than most other countdown posts)...
              Damn, who invented time zones?

                • What would be wrong if we didn't use time zones?

It would mean New Yorkers working 4am-12noon GMT, rather than 9am-5pm EST, and Californians working 1am-9am GMT (instead of 9-5 PST).

I think this would cause less bother than having many timezones (even down to half-hour differences).

Today, I am going to change the world. Maybe. Who's with me?

Although there may be a couple of counter-arguments to this

                  • What would a NYer mean then when he said "see you tomorrow" to a colleague?

Oh, to hell with it. We may as well decimalise time at the same time.

                    • swatch already did that - it's called internet time. you can even download a small app that shows the time on the desktop.

                      [edit]: it's now 768...

                            • Add a Matrox-countdown-clock to the Forum

How about putting a millenium clock on top of the MURC Forum that automatically makes a countdown.
It would tells everyone all you need to know and would save a lot of posts on how long since a given date/to an assumed date.
