        I'll have faith...

..when I finally have a nice Matrox card running again on my main computer, and I can retire my old G400(now running in a secondary box).

        :P

Oh gawd let it be REAL, and have decent Linux drivers.

        So many dashed hopes.

              The word is spreading

              Steve:
This is a very interesting thread / topic all over the net right now, Matrox's upcoming video cards. Ace's Hardware has an active thread covering what is suppose to be the specs on the next big vidcard from Matrox. Looks to be very impressive.

Just to prepare you folks: Matrox released information about their new graphic card code named "Parhelia" to the press 1-2 weeks ago. No one can say something specific about it because they are under NDA, but there are several birdies flying around giving hints. It appears like it is going to be a really big thing. Expect a public announcment in the coming month, probably mid-May (it's rumoured to be the 14th, rumoured card availability is 1-2 months afterwards).

There where already many rumours about its specs on the net, the following are what I would call "trustworthy rumours": 256bit memory bus, no embedded memory, no TBR. Fantastic FSAA, fast 8x multisampling. DX8.1 compliant, partially DX9 compatible (at least displacment mapping).

It is hard to be pessimistic..
