Not sure if this has been posted already!
We have all been hearing things about Matrox's next big thing and this leak over at Ace's Hardware forum looks reliable enough to give it a read at least... We will have to wait a couple more weeks however I'm glad Matrox is back, having only two major players on the enthusiast videocard scene was no good.
Just to prepare you folks: Matrox released information about their new graphic card code named "Parhelia" to the press 1-2 weeks ago. No one can say something specific about it because they are under NDA, but there are several birdies flying around giving hints. It appears like it is going to be a really big thing. Expect a public announcment in the coming month, probably mid-May (it's rumoured to be the 14th, rumoured card availability is 1-2 months afterwards).
There where already many rumours about its specs on the net, the following are what I would call "trustworthy rumours": 256bit memory bus, no embedded memory, no TBR. Fantastic FSAA, fast 8x multisampling. DX8.1 compliant, partially DX9 compatible (at least displacment mapping).
