We could see who remembers the old URL for MURC. I've forgotten it.

RedRed, I remember telix, such good memories.

Back on my 386-DX25 monochrome screen, in times where I could never consider having a matrox card. (Hercules graphics card all the way), my first experiences of the net were with telix.

It rocked, because it supported Zmodem, and stayed out of your way until you needed it. It operated under DOS only, great for my old computer (with only 2 meg of ram)

I used to use lynx on the ISP's shell machine to do internet surfing. And, just for fun, later on when I got EGA (and a whole 16 colors), I used this weird browser that downloaded web documents over a shell terminal and displayed them graphically in windows.

That was a long time ago (6 or 7 years)

The very first URL for the site was http://pmfmrc.nott.ac.uk as it was running off my Mac LCII at work The second URL was a dynamic one pointing at the same machine http://www.matroxusers.ml.org I think it was I then moved on up to a real domain name when I was able to afford it We then branched out and launched www.G200.com as part of a hosting deal I made.

I was first reading this pages after a friend of mine had bought his G200 and was desperately searching for an OpenGL driver....

I then "converted" to the Matrox G400 mainly because the NVidiaTNT I owned majorly sucked balls, especially regarding image-quality (I have to admit that the Voodoo3000 was a serious contender at that time).
Since the G400 was and still is a real fine card I would have surely bought other Matrox cards IF they had something competitive to offer.
As thing s went at Matrox I first got a Radeon64DDR VIVO and now a Radeon8500 instead of the by far underpowered G450 and G550. But if Parhelia is really that good it will be my next card. Price is not the first priority here.

I loved the old forums on gagames - when near the end they used to crash every other day

The internet archive didn't store the old forums properly unfortunately: http://web.archive.org/web/199909081...assCookie=true

This forum has threads going back to around June 1999 (ignoring the 1997 threads following a server glitch) on page 357 of the General Hardware forum.

                    Who remembers TheFly? (thefly.matroxusers.com)

And slightly embarassing, but anyone remember gtech.matroxusers.com? Maggi and I took that on, but then we both realised soon after that neither of us really had any time to work on it (I had just started uni) and then Matrox told us basically to make a decision: Online editor (of gtech or whatever) or Beta Test. Guess what we chose!

Another site was matrox.dimension3d.com - can't remember anything about it though.

Hey Ant - what was your friend's name who ran g200.com? I met him at ECTS back in, god, must be 1999 (!). What's he up to now?

                      I remember this!

I "found" the forums at the time I Got my Mystique! (Still the single most expensive computer part I bought )!
It was listed In the GAforums list and that way it is.....

Bought my g100 productiva in August 98 at the start of university (finish in a few weeks... WooHoo)... my wife has that now. My trusty g400 16mb is in front of me and an old Mystique is in the server under my desk. First came here to get updated drivers - or some tweak thing if I remember right towards the end of 98 ... I liked the old colour scheme...

                              Live Long and prosper

I am a regular “voyeur” of the MURC forums….
I first stumbled on this page when I was looking for some info on Matrox regarding their Real-time Video Boards (digi suite), did not blink befor I bookmarked the page..
I never felt the urge to post anything before but I have been around since 1999. LONG LIVE MURC.
