Well, i had hoped that they would use 0.13 micron, as the first gfx company... The chip could run cooler or/and faster....

      If it ran....
.13 is tough tech right now.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

it doesnt really matter what the tech is so long as it runs at higher quality and faster than the compitition at launch. in fact i think its good that its at .15micron as this gives scope to switch to 0.13 micron within the next year for even higher clock speeds while keeping the board stable. if they can eek this much performance out of .15 micron think what they will get from 0.13 micron compared to the nv30/r300.

Because .13 is a smaller and cooler running die. Otherwise it's kinda like some people perfering a 'vette over the 2003 Viper

well, i think it looks promising if they can make a card lake that at .15, gives room for improvement in future rehashes.
This sig is a shameless atempt to make my post look bigger.

anything that will make it cheaper...
Someday, we'll look back on this, laugh nervously and change the subject.
