The Russians had to get their info from somewhere.. so somewhere someone violated an NDA.. it doesn't matter who or how, or that it did.. NDA's are legal documents and are all too commonly disregarded.. If NDA violations go unchecked we will have to wait until 2-3 weeks post _release_ of products to see reviews on the web.. because companies will stop giving advanced information out.

Lets be careful about using phrases like "the Chinese" and "the Russians". The info isn't coming from a government or people but from a couple websites servicing viewers in those countries. These words just smell a bit racist. Thanks.

xortam: i think you are overreacting a bit. the site is hosted in russia and is in russian language so i think chances are astronomically high that the people behind the site are also russians, thus they are referred to as "the russians"
i can see that it can mean both things, but when in doubt think positiv not negativ.
I do agree with xortam here - I'm not for "political correctness" where it doesn't belong, but I am against generalizations of any kind - you, thop, and I would be "the germans" and of course anti-semitic nazi punks - which I am not.
Just don't say "the russians", as the chance is astronomically high that most russians don't even know ixbit exists
For the record my use of 'the russians' was short hand for 'the russian web site operators who wrote the article about the soon to be announce Parhelia'
Hope that clears it

Anyone that signed a NDA with Matrox on this one was not allowed to reveal ANY information on it, believe me I know. So the Chinese site saying it was allowed to reveal some information simply is not true. By the terms of the NDa they were not even allowed to reveal they had attended the event.
This sort of thing might seem insignificant but next time around Matrox may chose to believe that online editors just simply cannot be trusted so none will get NDAs or invites to such events and will only get information on the day as with the rest ofd the public. This sort of thing does a huge amount of harm to those of us that treat these things seriously. NDAs are supposed to be binding and are entered into openly by the signee, they know what they are signing and what the restrictions are. They are not complex legal documents, they simply state that any information given to you is strictly under NDA and none of it can be disclosed until the NDA expiration date which is May 14th 9:00AM EST on this one.
I have heard these same rumours, basically anyone saying they were writing a Parhelia tech demo was given a board by Matrox Dev Rel, and if they weren't NDA'd then someone over at Matrox needs a large rocket up their ass to put it mildly.
Originally posted by Dr Mordrid As noted in another thread reply: rumors persist that Matrox gave alpha Parhelias to some companies without NDA's. It the info originated there....
