Well, I have a couple of vga-monitors lying around...
But with a 17", 1280x1024@85 Hz as a center display, I doubt having 2 12" mono-vga 640x480 displays will enhance the true gaming experience (only one way to find out...) Although it might offer some strategic advantage (not having to look around). Someone else posted (either here or in another thread) that the 2 additinional displays needn't be as good as the centerdisplay... 
Perhaps I could use 2 spare 14", but they are not the same make, and they really don't output the same colours... So that probabely more of a no-go than the 2 identical mono-displays...
