• Parhelia photos?

Look at the large HSF...
(Ignore this babble if you don't know Detective Conan.)

I think I'd call all tri-headed cards "Hirokians", since... Hiroki Sawada definitively Tri-head!

So we have...
Matrox Parhelia Hirokia and
Matrox Millenium P750 Hirokia!

(But when can I REALLY have either of them? That's the question...)

Yep that's pretty big but we can assume that the final cards will be equipped with a GF4 type HSF... At least I hope so !

Wow

It seems we'll need an empty adiacent PCI slot. Someone predicted that thinking of 3DLabs Wildcats...

What's the deal with the dual DVI connectors. Will standard monitor cables have to use an adapter??

I think this is only a test bench card, just like what I've quoted on the topic "A piece of Parhelia?"

So, all high performance video cards REQUIRE an empty adjacent PCI slot, otherwise the fans do not perform well.

Cool pics though

As long as I get to keep the card, OK

About the Heatsink: I bet ya anything that one requirement of the card will be to have a free slot next to the AGP connector; Anyone who has a G4 Ti (60 M transistors & 300 MHz) knows that this chip get SCREAMING hot (even if the HSF unit is well designed); for those who don'T, just touch the back of the card (behinf the GPU itself); now, Parhelia is rumored to run at 350 MHz and have 80 -90 M transistors... and 0.15ยต fabrication process... this will be one darn hot (andnot very overclocking friendly) chip for sure... BTW, it's rumored that the "PRO" version will come with it's own 10-gallons N2 tank (with refills available in any good wal-mart)
