Displacement Mapping, is a compelling new hardware feature, which if supported by developers (Earth and Beyond is the first title to support this feature), can allow very detailed outdoor scenes to be used in games and other applications. The ability to add real geometric detail into a game instead of a illusion which is what bump mapping does, is an important contribution to 3d graphics.

          game bundle??

          displacement mapping?

          from http://www.matrox.com/mga/products/t...a/dev_supp.pdf

"Matrox's Hardware Displacement Mapping is a unique and innovative new technology that delivers increased realism for 3D games. The fact that it only took me a few hours to get up and running with the technology to attain excellent results was really encouraging and I look for-ward
to integrating Hardware Displacement Mapping more widely in future Westwood titles." Kenny Mitchell, director of 3D graphics software
engineering, Westwood Studios, currently working on Earth and Beyond.

                But they are accepting betatesters.

Wonder if they'd be interested in any of the BB's?

actually , I got a press briefing. I just tried to something a little different than simply by-rote copying/pasting the press CD as at least 2 previews I've seen posted . If I wanted that, I would have just posted what's on Matrox's site... Thanks for the comments though
