Im saving up for a 21"-24" crt, i canĀ“t afford 3 really good monitors, so i will have to do with one really good monitor.
This sig is a shameless atempt to make my post look bigger.

Ive already got 1 20inch crt, and 1 20 inch dfp, I would love a second dfp, but cant realy justify it yet. Ill probably stick an old 17inch crt on as my 3rd head, and see what happens.

One thing for sure though, Im going to bring my 21inch crt from work home some weekend, and try out this surround gaming thing!

Because you said "...and where can you get em?" I understood that you mean one device that has three LCD's in it.

This is the only place I know of that has such a "monsters":

They actually come with Matrox G550's/G450's, don't know if you can buy just the monitor(s?).

When I get rich I'll buy me a nice $9k 9X Media system. Until then I'll stick with my handy dandy 19". I might opt for some LCD's if I get some surplus cash in the future. My desk won't hold more CRT's.

Well, I doubt I'd be getting a triple display either because of the cost. I'll do good enough to get my system built and all let alone get a triple display. I was just wondering if a lot of people were going to try for it and how they were going to do it. Thanks for all the replies, any additional info is welcome.

I'm already running a (decent)21" and a (cheap)20" (both CRTs) in DualHead on my G550.
I have a pal with a bunch of used monitors (where I got this 20"). I'll get another used 20" cheap CRT from him to get my trihead running
I'll have to rearrange my desk, but I can fit them in...it's a big desk

I thought about using CRT's too, but it seems like the borders between each monitor would be too big. But then again, I haven't actually tried it so I really can't say much....

Well, it seems to me, for gaming, your main focus is always going to be on the main display. The other 2 are just for periferal vision. The screens might not match up exactly, but it's still going to be a HUGE fragging advantage to have 3x the FOV...

I might actually consider that. I am going to be getting a 19" LCD for sure, so that will most likely be my center display. If I have enough money left over I might try to get two decent CRT's added on to it. Guess I'll have to wait and see what my funds will be like.

I currently have 1 Eizo F730 19" crt, and the borders are not that large at all. it won't beat a flat panel by a long shot, but 3 of them would make a nice Triplehead setup i hope. It's an awful lot of money, i hope it's worth it.

Buddman you get used by the borders between each monitor, I even have some space between each monitor.

Before you go shopping, remember that (as I have understood it) Parhelia ain't going to do three digital flat panels...

This thread should have been posted to GH/S forum seeing that it has nothing per se todo with future Matrox products...

Use the Crystal Ball to part the mists of time and talk about the shape of Matrox hardware to come. Oh and to keep MHW free for what it's there for!
