  • DX9 development & Anandtech review about Parhelia

    Anand writes:

"The lack of a fully programmable floating-point pixel pipeline will hurt the Parhelia-512 in the eyes of developers as they start writing for DX9 hardware later this year."

Start writing for DX9 hardware ?
What does he mean, DX9 compatible games ??

A friend of mine was working as a game developer
and said they were already coding games
    targeting DX9 in year 2000!

(oh, and please do not remind me about
Soon (tm) adopted by Remedy.. )

Well Daffy, the first problem is the link to Anandtech and the second problem is mentioning writing games coded for DX9 in 2000. Not. Maybe a specific feature in DX9 at that time. But as you will see as DX lineage continues there will be fragmentation within the industry as not a single one will have a fully compliant chipset capable of all features or at least best use of said festures.
