Saw lots of GeForce 4 TI4x00's. By my eyes, and, general impressions of 3 other sets of eyeballs, this level of nVidia card is an order of magnitude better than the previous level. Are we convinced to buy?
NO. Because ...
We also saw the Matrox Parahelia in two venues. One showed the MS Train Sim on one of those 3 panel setups. (you fill in the expletives I've deleted.) ....You just have to see it! ..... The other was across the street using 3 large Sanyo projectors against a set of (looked like) 6'x8'screens. Tomorrow, we have arranged to have Q3A ready to test. And, this demo is via the folks from Matrox. (they were speaking French, after all.) Matrox did get it right! Finally. This card deserves a serious looksee. Gorgeous does not do this bit of silicon justice. I am still not sure I believe what I saw today; from a Matrox card. nVidia does have trouble now. And this trouble is in their front yard!
JoelLibertarian is still the way to go if we truly want a real change.
