  • Heat... Ain't it a bitch ?

    I've just read on www.pcpop.com.cn that ATI's Radeon 9700 (R300) will be frequency limited due to heat problems... doesn't this reminds us of some other recently released graphics card? Parhelia was supposed to beat the GeForce 4 Ti hand-down (well, it does for me, since I always play 3D games at max details, aniso and anti-aliasing, and Parhelia offer so much uniques features), and so is the Radeon 9700 is rumored to be... In any case, I'll get (prordered) a parhelia for sure, while maybe, and only maybe, i'll get a Radeon 9700 (only if it offers much faster 3D performance, aniso and FAA16x comparable AA quality and speed), but if I do, it will go in my gaming box, as the Parhelia will stay in my main workstation for a LONG time (not as long as my Millennium, but still...)
    What was necessary was done yesterday;
    We're currently working on the impossible;
    For miracles, we ask for a 24 hours notice ...

    It means you're in for a hell of money spending... damn delay that Radeon 9700 and send me a nice Parhelia card, it's almost my birthday! .. you'll thank me later for not having bought that radeon wich will be plagued with s*cky drivers..
    Let those who want to be simple, be simple.

      The translator is a litle wild here........

      0.15micron will be a big heat issue for the R300, they have to do like Matrox, reduce the clock speed on the chip!
