matrox says this is the last MTSTU release. time for speculation

the MTSTU has to support the next P version then. the only thing that might indicate this though is the support for AGP 8x
    no matrox, no matroxusers.

"The last version" doesn't have to mean that it will support future cards.
Maybe they'll integrate some of MTSTU's features into the new PowerDesk, or maybe they've decided that tweaking will no longer be needed because safe settings will be autodetected. What bothers me is the support for overclocking etc. tuning, will Matrox cease all "support" for those activities? Of course every tuning/OCing option brings some additional work for the tech support...

Hopefully they will provide a method of doing things that were only possible using the MTSTU tool in the display properties pages.

I'm not sure why Matrox haven't migrated the functionality of the tool into the GUI unless that is something that Microsoft frowns upon. Or maybe Matrox was worried that customers would might break stuff by messing with the settings.

Perhaps an OC tool as seen in the KryoII drivers....(the most Kickass one to date)....

If Microsoft frown upon it, they could remove it from the versions they send to the hardware quality labs, so no WHQL certification for those versions.

And I doubt it will support future chips, as those future chips are probably awaiting design.
