It must be laying around somewere...
In a place deep deep inside the HQ of Matrox they must have a exibit of products that never came out to the public..... the faumos G800, F800, F450, ParheliaII..... and so on....
Does it really matter if it taped out? Right now I'd focus on getting my bottom line production into Longhorn compatible gear. P-II will probably require .13 or .09 prod. I think the P-LX nicely fills the low and mid range. I can't wait for them to retire the G450/550. Let them introduce the P8X next year and the Pitou (bugfree!) in 2005/2006...
Well early on with the parhelia, there was a statment/rumour that matrox will be going straight to 0.09 when it becomes feasible...I think it may have actually been form matrox?

Does anybody at Matrox dare to comment on unreleased products? And spesifications/feautures on unreleased products?

Personally, I have high respect for him and his data. The Parhelia info he told us in around December 2001 was VERY accurate!
you might have high respect to Vigil Ant, but _ I KNOW_ that 3dcgi was closer to pitou project than Vigil Ant.
(and in matter of fact, in compared several sources that I had, Vigil Ant had some clue, but some of the info were badly crossed against mine.)
I am not calling a V_A as liar, but more like that truth is most likely somewhere between my and V_A's info.
3dcgi: afaik, Pitou was scrapped as project. Or at least it was put on ice for quite a long time. there was some negoations (at least some level.) done to get some outside technology (it was offered from the outside.) to Pitou make it possible to get it finished, but management didn't like the idea, so that was last breathe for Pitou.
as P750 supporting AGP 8x, it seems that Matrox eventually got the never revision of Parahelia core finished, though it is cut in half on Pxxx -cores. still, first tests seems to prove that Pxxx has all the improvments I heard on last september to becoming on Parhelia 8x -chip.
Mediaman, if you read this, could you think of ripping of heat sink of P750?? if it is the new core I have been hearing talk about, it should have FCPGA packaging instead of the old one.
That's pretty weird... more Parhelia I refreshs for next year? Not strange though... just look at what happened to G550... they never leran their lesson don't they BTW... the P8X is supposed to have an FCBGA packaging?)
Anyways... IMO Matrox should have broguht anything avilible to them if the management wants MGA to survive...at this rate Matrox won't be able to launch anything CLOSE to competitive... that goes for the amount of RnD they have vs. ATI/nV.
Of course, they never want MGA to survive
edit: I want my Parhelia II core to be...
90nm fab, SOI, FCBGA, 1024bit
j/k
edit 2: i wonder what tech they were offered with...
Hey Chrono, I have a propsition for you:
Let's you and I form a company, called ChronoGeek. We will design the best everything from now on, and spend $$$$$$$$ on R&D. Then we will cancel the projects when they are almost done, cut them in half, and release them several years late! Our projects will dominate! Sound Good?
