    First ever MURC Core War!

    Step right up, Ladies and Germs (not GURMS, GERMS!) and join in the ... fray.

    Announcing the first ever MURC CORE WAR!

    That's right, you heard me!

    For those of you who are unaware of what Core Wars is, I refer you to...

    Essentially, Core Wars is a game whereby players (you and I) create "warriors" (programs) in an assembly language "REDCODE" that run inside a virtual computer "MARS".

    These warriors battle for control of the system, stealing each others' CPU cycles and whatnot. It's fun to watch as much as play.

    If anyone has a preferred environment, let me know. Otherwise I'll be hosting using the latest stable approved pMARS.

    Anyone with any input as to how to conduct the tourney... i.e. round robin style, etc. please let me know ASAP so we can make some decisions. Feel free to bring this discussion into #murc.

          No offend or anything but I don't see how driver is a sport to

              It's no more a sport than chess. Err... well I suppose Chess _is_ an olympic-level sport. Bleh.

              Whatever. I'm allowed to be hypocritical when the FUTURE OF THE CORE IS ON THE LINE! MUHAHAHAHAHAHA!

                Eh, watch rally racing. It may change your mind. It's pretty viscious.


                But Bowling is a sport...just not a super active one.

                  If you don't think auto racing is a sport, go to Malibu Grand Prix and try really hard to break the track time. You have to have heightened concentration and physical control for an extended period of time, plus the environment inside the car is often very hot. You need to be in good shape to do it.. you don't see many fat race car drivers, do you?
