I liked DareDevil. I think they could have done more with it, but honestly it captured the spirit of the comic very well, as well as adding some extra cool stuff that I wish the comic writers had thought of.

As for the new Superman, it's not the casting that's a problem (Jerry O'Connell is also in the running, I hear). It's the ABSURD plot changes that they want.

    - Jimmy Olsen? Gay.
    - Supe's powers? From the suit.
    - Krypton? Didn't blow up.

    WHAT... THE... F***?

Anyway, the Hulk I vascillate on. When I first saw the initial teaser (with the guy looking in the mirror and saying how it's inside him and he doesn't know if he can control it... but it builds and builds... and so help him he LIKES IT... and then his eyes go all yellow and the wall explodes) I thought "Cool! Hulk by Ang Lee! Awesome!". Now I see more previews and go... umm... yuk.

X2 looks like it will either rock or suck. But then again so did X1, and that turned out well.

    Spider Man was great.

We'll see how things go. It can't get worse than Batman & Robin, or Captain America, or The Punisher. Bleh.

This stinks of the "superman" remake Stan Lee did as a publicity stunt

I don't think Keaton was that dark. I mean, he was the darkest movie Batman, but still pales compared to the comic Batman, or the original Dark Knight. Batman is an exceptional, but brooding, tormented, and especially vengeful human being.

I hear they're actually trying to get a good bit of that in "Year One."

Notice I said "some". In some of the comics and film/TV before and after the Keaton Batman movies, Batman was no where near as dark as even Keaton's portrayal, let alone the Dark Knight one. How Batman is portrayed in comics really depends on which ones you read.

In some he's just this quiet, somewhat dark crusader; in others he's a tortured, dark, vigilante that often borders on criminal.

I would love to see a Batman that is more along the lines of the Dark Knight.

              Ewwww........

              Adam West?? Nowayinhell....

Give me the brooding, dark vigilante any day. There are far more possibilities in those story lines.

Yeah, and I could never see Adam West defeating Superman.

Batman could never defeat superman anyway. I hate the fact that Supe got all wussed-down in the 90's. I mean, c'mon. He can make the planet spin backwards, for chrissake!

I heard on the Radio today that Toby Macguire might not be able to do Spiderman 2 due to back problems....That would really suck for him

Actually, in the 90's comic "Dark Knight Returns", Batman built a super powered suit that kicked Superman's butt ... with a little help... Plus, all Batman needs to do is get some kryptonite and Superman is helpless. In the comic world, Bruce Wayne has more than enough power and money to pull off that little feat.

As for the Superman movie...rumor has it that the project is going bust, or at least losing its director:

So how many Murcs here have a comic collection?

I used to collect comic books until I got married 7 years ago. The reason I stopped was not because of the wife but because dating was expensive ( so in a way it was because of the wife ) and comics were not comics anymore. They were special bond paper, gloss ink, quadruple covers etc...etc...
When I started $5 CDN got you about a dozen comics ( 35 cents on the cover ) now I think you can buy one. I have about 4 thousand comics with mostly comics from Marvel and DC. Some from the independents but not many. I haven't taken one out to read in a long time.

Also I'm glad I'm not alone in liking the Daredevil movie, but then again I liked Judge Dredd and the Punisher movie, I draw the line on Captain America.

Never really collected comics, just read them here and there. If I collected any it was various Batman comics, though I don't have any of those left (or any comics at all for that matter). Most of the time I just read a friend's copy or such. When I was a child I didn't have any money and when I was old enough to have money, other things were slightly more important (such as dating, which definately can be expensive).

I have over a thousand different comics books

But I collect because I read and not for the collectings sake, so some I don't have on decision (some really cheasy spidy books)
