So you should check all highschool pupils. And well, if you have a white woman collaborating with you (or if you place the weapon, like RedRed said), a white nun might well be carrying a weapon.

Plus, I really don't see what you'd need a weapon for - just go into the cokpit and break the three guys necks. with sufficient training (as every good terrorist is likely to get) this should easily be possible for two or even one person.

I'm really sorry to say that, but even if you are oversimplifying your first postings are (imho) not acceptable - at least somebody should comment on them.

profiling (ok, I don't like that one too, but one can discuss that) might solve the problem, but the fact that you put the term racial and look (especially this one) into the context is so f**ked up.

I know that some will think "political correct liberal" now, but listen: your look and race is nothing you choose or can change. you can live in a country for decades, you can be born there - but you will still look like your ancestors.
you could pick people by their belonging to certain organisations, certain nationalitites - but even that is highly questionable, after all we are talking about a constitutional state here.
what i would suggest? control everybody - or nobody. secure access to critical places (e.g. the cockpit).

compare it to a small child: either you watch it all the time (surveillance) or you remove everything dangerous from its reach.

but picking people by their look at that extent brings back memories from history lessons: hunting witches, rounding up japanese people during WW2, and of course the first years of the thirties. they started not by sending jews to camps, ya know? everything has to start somewhere...

yes, the comparison is far off - but the problem with racism is imho not the open presented one, but the subtle comments that are so common everywhere.

Profiling is profiling. The most simplistic approach to profiling for Islamic terrorists is to grab everyone who fits the BASIC Islamic profile - arab.

But you're RIGHT, not all Islamics are arabs.

So the profile must be more complex. I'm not a professional profiler, nor are you. But the FBI has 'em, and it's sad that they aren't using them for this... because they're STARTLINGLY accurate.

As for slipping a weapon to the nun... well there's a reason for metal detectors and x-ray machines. And any weapon that won't set off metal detectors or x-ray machines... can be smuggled onboard by ANYONE.
