  • Is Tempest a Commie?

Just noticed your new avatar, T. Looks like another neo-Soviet one, which just makes me curious about your political leanings. Does Tempest have secret dreams of commisardom?

Where's the "He's definitely gay" choice? It's been on all the other polls lately
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

Well, I just thought its just a fun avatar thing. (i.e. KvH may not like to be struck by thunder just because his avatar as thunder, or wombat may not each computer chips instead of photo chips just because his avatar is computer chips)

      just kidding

@Wombat. ROFLMAO. I am thinking if I should hang out around here anymore... I sometimes wonder, will Guru and Zoke's avatar turned into something (no comment) in the future.

            Speaking of which:

During revolution young Russian artists (Malevich, Lissitzky, Mayakovsky, etc...) that were connected to other European konstructivists and fututists (Italian) did some great stuff.

After the revolution, politicians had time and energy to look into art and they imposed realism and portraits of happy workers, etc....

The artists I mentioned either ran away or commit suicide out of disapointment with new order.

Oh, thank you for the kind attention. And it's not even my birthday yet.

I vote for "he's a pretentious communist art fag with a demented fetish for freshly spilled blood"...

...not that there's anything wrong with thatâ„¢.

Tempest's avatar look like a big Parhelia afro to me. Nothing more, nothing less.
                Titanium is the new bling!

Well, indeed I tried to make it so that one could interpret it either as a military hat, a turban or an afro (additional viewpoints welcome). I'm not very happy with how it turned out though, so I don't expect this avatar to be very long-lived...

I always enjoy seeing what your next av is going to be anyways.

Tempest, are you an arts student? Or Design? (Just out of curiosity, I'm currently trying to figure out what to study when I restart this summer - and I have about ten days left to decide *lol - though it'll not be anything too artsy - I'd like to combine art and technology. My dream would be studying something like interface design or usability...)

Well, best combination of art and technology is architecture IMO, but I'm not doing too good.

                            Nah, architecture isn't for me

I'd really like to do something like designing user interfaces...

Nein, tut mir leid. "Studying" IT at the local university of technology (at the current pace I'll probably graduate in ~201x)... The problem is that I like computers and technology, but math lessons have always been too abstract and boring to me (so I suck at it). It would probably help if I had a goal of some sorts, but I can't think of a single thing that would interest me - so I'm just kinda drifting along.

I always enjoyed drawing stuff and playing the piano & drums so that's basically the "artsy" part of me.

Combining art and technology? Sounds good to me. I'm actually pretty sure that many modern professions are built on that concept. But architecture does sound kinda dull to me too. When I was a kid I used to dream of being a car designer... Interface design also does sound kind of neat.
