Now this is a first...Price Watch is downish...the frames load, but sans content, E! Gads!, but since we're on the subject of online computer stores (if you will) What's your favorite?

Bah, they don't ship to Canada. Why aren't there any cool online stores like that up here?

i hvae noticed that the majority of online stores do not ship to international adresses...... which leeds me to think that the real world has yet to catch up with the universality of the internet.... now this is frustration.... seeing something for half the price that i get here yet "sory.. we dont ship world wide... just the US and Canada"
cant wait to imigrate to canada.... i love the cold.. i love the comfort.... i love the people.....

SD, it doesn't get much better in Canada. Most online stores in the US don't ship to Canada. When they do, the shipping costs are ridiculous, and then you have to add on taxes, duties, and customs brokerage fees. It often ends up more expensive even if their price is fantastic.

And there's not a whole lot that customs will allow past the border either.

Cool. I'm sure you'll have a great time. We've got a pretty good city going on, lots to see and do. Plenty of fantastic restaurants too. One of the benefits of being so multicultural.

SpiralDragon: Canadaians always complain about low US prices. And you have to have stuff shipped as gifts in order to avoid customs.
Here all online shops are just extensions of brick and mortar stores and are 15-30min of walk away, so ordering online and waiting for a few days is rather pointless, considering you could take a 15min walk/5min drive, get the thing and take it home.
well the primery reason that i would order online is beacuse what i want aint available here,,.... i guse in canada i could just walk up the pc shop and get what i want....
eg.. HDDs: the ones we get here (90%) i am sure they are refurbrished drives since they do not perform anywhere neer the same ones i bought from the states for a slightly lesser price.....
i am more intrested in the qulity of what i am getting too

Well, I know the products for central Europan market are different from those for western European market sometimes.
Also regarding hardware: IMO the quality varies among the markets, depends on volume, connections, etc...
For instance I was told what one could do:
- There was this company here that was main importer from Taiwan and other places, other smaller companies (founded latter) just resold their imports.
- One day they entered retail market and announced they are no longer going to wholesale to other companies, thus leaving them in limbo (no connections, exclusive deals).
- After a few years situation turned arround and the smaller companies became importers, while the first company became retailer only.
- So it would be possible to order a shipment of faulty motherboards from the Taiwaneese and stock them up for purpouse of only to be resold to the big company that was only retailer by that time.
- Eventually they went bankrupt.
