    Javascript Question

    Hey all...Well I was hoping to learn Javascript so the next time I get around to updating my site it could have all new javascript coolness to it (currently totaly HTML driven). So I went to the lib and got this book on it and the book is Really good in some areas I discovered, but supprisingly lacking in others...so does anyone know any good sites that start off semi-basic and get more advanced??? I figure that if anyone could possibly know it would be the wonderful folk here at MURC

    Used to have loads of links... I found that downloading lots of examples *close* to what I wanted to do, then fiddling was a great way to learn.

    Try http://www.javascriptsource.com for starters - and I'll try to remember some others. Also Webmonkey at http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/ has more in-depth articles aimed at the beginner-intermediate levels.

          Because Flash is usually overkill.
          Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

            Thanx, it's a start...I'm kinda board with just plain HTML and all of it's limitations...just palying around I created a couple of functions to help me format, and began to see the power...and I want it

              Personaly I like DHTML have a look at http://www.dynamicdrive.com

                got in to html javascript, dhtml et all but then got so board of it that i gave my books away..... (shrug) cant stand this stuf any more

                    Yup Dynamic Drive that Guru pointed to is also a good site (or it was last time I looked about 2 years ago )
