I have seen some of Moore's shows, I'd probably woulden't stand him if I met him BUT that don't mean that he don't have a point

      Totally agree with you Technoid.

Anyway he's become an icon for many anti-Bush people. And he is getting into that role with joy.
There is even a rumour going on around here, it says that the Academy have cancelled the Oscar to Bowling for Columbine! You won't believe how many people think this is true.
(OT: should I say "how many people" or "how much people" ? )

sorry Gurm for geting out of topic in your thread

I just finished watching Equilibirum. I enjoyed it a lot, but Gurm is right, it's more of a thinking man's action movie. I would agree it falls along the line of Farenheit and 1984 more than anything else.

          drslump:

          It's "how many".

          technoid:

Yeah, if I meet him in person I'll kick his ass. His "point" is liberal claptrap of the highest order. The fact that he gets recognition for it underscores the absurdity of Hollywood. He's a fat, egotistical blowhard. He's like a liberal Rush Limbaugh, only not deaf and not as rich. I asked someone if "Bowling For Columbine" reached the conclusion that the parents were to blame. It didn't, so I won't watch it. There is nothing else to learn from Columbine. The teachers aren't responsible, the students aren't responsible, video games and TV aren't responsible. The parents are.

Yeah, my copy of Equilibrium is here, and is nice. Skimpy extras but what do you expect from such a low-budget movie. I hold out hope for a special edition with more scenes... but not much hope.

Good movie. It might do a few people some good to watch it, but I doubt they would be able to see themselves in those black suits.

I saw this movie again at work today. It's really an awesome piece of work. I think I'm going to buy it, but I'll wait a bit to see if there's some sort of special edition. It's really a very deeply affecting film, if it hits you just right. What is really rather frightening is how we are slowly moving toward this reality. "Father" even mentions the concept of the "hate crime" as being a huge leap toward their society. Can "thought crime" or "sense crime" be far behind?

I really don't think you can expect a special edition at all, sadly. The disc was about as sparse as they get. The video transfer was... adequate, there were virtually no extras (I don't count monotonous voiceover tracks as "extras"), and there was NO packaging or inserts.

Considering the budget this movie had, I'm surprised we got it on DVD at all. My local Suncoast had exactly ONE copy.

Does anyone know if there is a soundtrack? If not, what are the individual songs?
