I'd have to agree with Gurm, I reaaly see absoluetly no need to partition a hard drive.

    I use three drives:

    C: main os - win2k 17.2gb used, of 40 Gb
D: completed video projects/misc video 17.4 used of 40 Gb
E:video capture drive 25.4 used of 80 GB

also 1 Iomega zip scsi drive,
1 yamaha 8/8/24 scsi cd drive
    1 sony DRU-500a dvd -/+/r/rw
Yeah, well I'm gonna build my own lunar space lander! With blackjack aaaaannd Hookers! Actually, forget the space lander, and the blackjack. Ahhhh forget the whole thing!

        Impressive, most impressive.

But then again, there are 250GB IDE drives and with a cheap Promise Raid card they can be turned into a 1 Terabyte Array.

This is one of the main reasons I partition my drives. Although lately i've just been buiying more drives

Raid array consisting of two IBM GXP60 40gb's
                    backup,
                    Downloads,

Two partitions and that is just because th win98SE install

                    excluding the 5gb fat32 partition.

Multiple Partitions in windows enviroment is an ugly left over from the FAT16 days

I'm seriusly thinking of getting rid of the array and just use two normal drives and make my secondary computer into a file server

A good reason for partitioning: Using a faster filesystem for swap, i.e. FAT16, and a secure but slower filesystem for the rest, i.e. NTFS.
