I seem to remember something about Jesus being from the middle-east, but I might be mistaken. But then again, Hollywood didn't invent him, I think... although I suppose I could have been brainwashed by the frighteningly efficient population pacification system.

How about Lord of the Rings, the heros are all white, even when they're not human!

And about the Matrix; Assuming that the population of the Matrix is balanced out racialy more or less similar to real life, when you consider the entire WORLD, and not just certain countries (obviously you're gonna find more asians in China ect) it wouldn't be hard to end up with different races if you picked people at random.

        JPI:

Drop the LOTR issue. It's been beaten to death by people with way more education than you or I will ever have, and they all got shot down - 99% of them by the good Prof. himself.

One thing that bothered me about the trailer: The scene where that guy jumps on the car! When I first saw it, it looked great, but after I saw it in the long trailer from quicktime, where you can also see hime jumping away again, it it looks really computer made.

It was quite good, but not nearly as good as the first one. The story kind of dragged a few times, and the character development wasn't as good, but the action was great, and there was lots of it.

Yeah, there were a few scenes like that. The massive fight with with all the agent Smiths looked quite fake at times. It was a lot better than would've been possible a few years ago, but it still just didn't look right. A little too cartoon-like. Although... since stuff like that would be totally impossible in the real world, I guess there's no way it would ever look totally real.

Maybe the Matrix uses nVidia video cards. I bet it would look more life like with a Giga-color.

Yeah, but you shouldnt be able to see it while watching it on a trailer downloaded in a highly compressed format, watched on a small screen. LOTR did a much better job, it seems, and they didnt have 5 years (not for the effects, anyway )

Yeah, LOTR is really well done. X2 had pretty ambitious effects, especially the teleporter guy, and those were pretty well done. When Mystique is stressed and rapidly shape-shifting though, it looks pretty fake. It looks like the new form is just being drawn onto her frame by frame. Seems like if she was real, her skin would be rippling in the area about to be shape-shifted. Oh well, things advance by baby steps I suppose. What I find to be a shame is how people seem to be judging the quality of the movie by how good the special effects are. X2 was really good, but I didn't think the storyline or direction was quite as good as it should have been for so man people raving about the film as much as they were.. Jaws had pretty poor special effects, but that USS Indianapolis speech was worth the price of admission by itself.

I'm not sure what movie you guys saw, but Reloaded easily blew away the snore-fest called TTT - based just on the story. I'm definately anticipating Revolutions much more than RoTK or X3.

                              A little too cartoon-like.
You're complaining about that, yet you do not mention anything about the "Sesame Street" Ents?!

Snore-Fest?! Sesame Street?! The Ents beat the crap out of Orthanc!

The Matrix is great, but a better story than LOTR? I don't know about that. (Haven't seen Reloaded yet, going tomorrow night...)
