  • Good points Gurm..
Now finally after a long long time, a movie that is making my brain work... While the idea of humans developing their latent ESP abilities is good, i cant fully discount the matrix outside the matrix idea because of agent smith.. Everything i can think of comes with its own anomalies .. got to wait for the third installment..
Life is a bed of roses. Everyone else sees the roses, you are the one being gored by the thorns.

    • Come on guys, don't be silly. Why couldn't there be multiple matrices running alongside? The current matrix is, afterall, a 6th incarnation, right? Also, this would explain Neo's superpowers (I find it much more believable that he can sense he's in another matrix and can alter it, instead of some whacked X2-like look ma' I got superpowers! bs). And Agent Smith downloaded himself from matrix 1 to matrix 2, that's quite feasible. If it indeed was real world, how would a program download itself into a real world? Think about it. And think about this:

im starting to believe in the "2nd Matrix Theory" now.... why? Because of this:

      Quote »
The sequel to "The Matrix" approaches, and one of Zizek's zingier suggestions is that it will contain a moment when the drab, scary "real world" of the film will be revealed as yet another construct. If that's the case, most of the audience will probably whisper "Whoa!" as minds are blown for $10 a pop nationwide. Some of us, though, will not be surprised, and in the late-night gab sessions that such movies are created to inspire, we will be way ahead of the rest of you.

This was a review done in Dec. 4, 2002 about The Matrix and Philosophy book, which is a series of essays done by modern philosophers. Anyways, one of them basically says that expect the "real world" to be another matrix as well. And he told this to us almost a year before the Matrix 2 release!

      • there's also another theory but that's even stranger

Well to be all NERD like....
First off: he didn't say "it was the architect who freed the first of us" It was the Oracle who did it.

Second: of course there are two matrix's, it's quite obvious that there is when Neo is offered a second door to go thru to change the outcome. But there can be only ONE. hence two matrix's ONE god.

Want another cluster F#@K of a theorie?

Remember: theres going to be a "matrix: online" game made.....Remember this, and the theory would make sense

        Here ya go:

Ok im new to this and have been ready all your post, i have an opinion on this and see what you guys think.

1st we all know neo is a software programer right? as im sure we would all agree.

2nd we remeber in the begining that he hands choi a cd that he pays 2k for right?

quote from the movie "Neo: My computer, it... You ever have that feeling where you're not sure if you're awake or still dreaming?"

choi's response "Choi: Mm, all the time. It's called Mescaline. It's the only way to fly. Hey, it just sounds to me like you need to unplug, man. You know, get some R and R. What do you think, DuJour? Should we take him with us?"

Now ill will try to think real simple. I think Neo is a virtual game creator and hes on drugs (Mescaline)Look it up you will see what this drug does, and hes pluged into one of his games, and possibly stuck in it, or the drug is just doing its thing.

I would bet money on this one. hit hit. lol (anyone care to bet) tell me what you guys think.

        And this is Why.....
        Quote:
I just read the script for the 1st one and look at this all the symptoms match things that happend in the movie

        Post-Dose: Effects of the Mescaline
D+.5Hour Feeling in the "gut" that is strange (bearly noticable)...
D+1Hour Feel the "Mescaline Warmth." Somatic waves start very mildly.
D+1.5Hour Somatic waves level off, Minor thought changes and minor visuals slowly build.
D+ 2Hour Visuals become evident. Somatic and Thought waves growing pretty strong.
D+2.5Hour Intense waves break through into peak. Ego disolution well underway.
D+3Hour Total Effect of Mescaline felt. Ego disolved, powerful visuals and the visions start. This lasts for approximately 10 hours. Then it wears off like it came on

oh and by the way LIQUID MESCALINE IS A RED PILL

        • Impact:

Clearly you've never DONE mescaline. Trust me, much like LSD the idea of having a prolonged "vision quest" while on it is overblown. This is not mushrooms, this is mescaline.

Secondly, I don't know that Smith "downloaded" himself into a second Matrix at all. And I saw NOTHING definitive, no "jaw dropping" or "brain popping" or "oh my god" moment when we saw that the "real world" wasn't real. All we know is that Smith inserted himself into this guy's brain. And why isn't that possible? The machines know enough about the human brain to be able to plug us all into the Matrix, why can't Smith figure out how to insert his own programming over a human brain? And it's obvious that the guy still knew things that Smith didn't know, so I don't think that Smith took him over completely, just "infected" him as it were. He tried to do it to Neo and Morpheus as well, but failed.

Now, the ORACLE did not set "the first of us" free. The previous "One" did, although Morpheus did not name him. The Oracle couldn't have led them to Zion, since the Oracle doesn't exist in the "real world" - she is a program.

I'm not saying there CAN'T be a second Matrix. I'm saying that I haven't seen anything conclusive to suggest that there is, and that we're giving WAY too much credit to the writers - whose target audience is the American Public, average IQ well under 100.

As for philosophers... the philosophers have maintained for millenia that reality is nothing more or less than what we perceive. I don't buy it any more now than I did when I first read a philo. 101 book.

I'm the least you could do, oh yeah

                  • To me it seems like they focused a lot more on the special effects and the fight scenes than on anything else, but the story is still there. I think it's worth seeing.

If I remember well it goes like :
"putain de nom de Dieu de ta mère de chiasse de merde" (well I'm not quite sure, anyway the idea's there)

                          Wich would translate into :
                          "God f*cking sh*t moth*rf*cking sh*t"

Well I might be wrong tho.. still it's the best translation I can think of. It's true that we do have ALOT of swears in french.

                              • I like this quote:

1.Stop and stare at each opponent to crack knuckles, stretch neck muscles
2.Both opponents rush towards each other at top speed.
3.Pause action at moment of impact to change camera angle.
                                4.15 seconds of parried blows.
5.One opponent catches hit and is thrown into heavy solid object.
6.Pause action again to emphasize damage done by human body on inanimate object.
                                7.Object breaks, opponent remains unharmed.
8.Attacker attempts finishing move, but attack is reversed, in turn sending attacker into another inanimate object.
                                9.Repeat steps 6 and 7, skip to step 10.
10.Launch projectile at oppenent, slow down film speed enough for other opponent to move around oncoming projectiles.
                                11. Run to phone booth.
