  • I've talked with more friends who got the idea that the "real world" wasn't real, but couldn't positively tell me why, except for Neo "feeling" the machines at the end, which I hardly find definitive. I want to know what the "jaw dropping" moment was for various people that convinced them that there was a "second matrix", because I missed it for sure.

    • I thought the same thing too at the end. I was thinking of the concept of recursion. I do like your idea, Gurm. This is the first movie in a long time to keep me guessing. I give it two thumbs up for that at least.

      Edit:
I will be seeing it again at least once to pick up on some more of the details. I haven't seen a move more than once at the theaters for quite some time.

If there's artificial intelligence, there's bound to be some artificial stupidity.

        • What if at the end the only thing the Matrix is doing is taking care of humans. I mean, the paramount goal of the super computer behind the Matrix is to keep human species alive and that means safe from harm... even from other humans (Zion). So the mass of humanity is kept ignorant and sleeping for its own sake...

          • Watched Matrix Reloaded on Saturday night w/friends... it was alright...

Coolest scene IMO is the fighting 3rd fight (i think) with >1000 smiths

            • Nah, I wasn't real fond of the 1000 Agent Smiths battle, because Neo looked so damn fake in it. What was up with their special effects people CHEEZE-ing out and using some computer-generated Neo skin pasted onto some other actor?

              • Ok, I finally finished watching the Animatrix, and I have to ask again:

                ...

                ...

WHAT is the DEFINITIVE moment in "The Matrix Reloaded" that convinced you (if you were convinced) that there is a second Matrix?

                • Did you know guys that the game emphasis on another moment in the story?

See when Morpheus asks for one captain to stay behind just to make sure the Oracle's message is going to reach Neo.
The game starts there and follows the story of the crewmembers until in the movie Neo is given something before entering the lift.

Speaking of wich, anybody played the game already?

                  • No, gonna rent it. Heard it was real good from a couple friends.

Interestingly, I feel pretty bad for poor Morpheus now that the Oracle AND the Prophecy turn out to be fake.

                    • You know, I just thought of something. What if those Sentinels' sole purpose was to ZAP Neo into a coma, so that he can't tell the others what he learned from the architect?

                      • I thought it was a great movie. The only thing lacking IMO was the music during the fight scenes. It felt too weak. The first film had much better music to get you into the action. Action, Story, Character; it was all there, if you missed it then maybe the third matrix has you and you need to wake up.

                        • I think Gurm, that the pivotal point at which I thought that they were still in A matrix rather than THE Matrix, is when he actually shot an 'emp' from his fingertips and that he was able to feel them. And it also makes sense that Smith was changed by his interaction with Neo. Perhaps it just let him through the 'firewall' when he 'virused' That guy. And the reason that I thought that Neo was in a coma at the end wasn't because he zapped the sentinels per se, but more to the point that his psyche once again had problems coping with the fact that he was in ANOTHER MATRIX. So he passed out and is in a coma in THAT matrix, but perhaps he has actually finally AWOKEN into the really real world. And who knows, perhaps in the REAL world, the matrix with all the humans and everything is just one big alien experiment. Now THERE is a thought to think about

In a perfect world... spammers would get caught, go to jail, and share a cell with many men who have enlarged their penises, taken Viagra and are looking for a new relationship.

Are you sure that's what they did? I haven't seen a "making of," but I was under the impression that that entire sequence never existed in the real world.

I totally agree with you, the fact that they almost suppressed real acting during the fight scenes is total bulls**t. Same thing when you see Jet Lee fighting in one of his old movies and in one produced by Hollywood (Romeo must die for exemple). There no sweat, there's no agressivity, they're just doing the move and that's all.. you can't feel any impression, can't feel the pain.

In the first movie when Morpheus was being _butchered_ by smith you could feel something in your bone telling you that this must hurt. Now even tho he's facing the new agents, he still doesn't look like he's feeling pain.. I don't know how to put it.. just wanted to share it with you guys and have your impressions on it..
