The first guy I know of doing it, years ago, did it differently. He'd had his tongue pierced, but got tired of the stud. He put wire through the hole, and had it wrapped to the tip. He'd tighten it slowly over time, and the tongue would slowly slice from the inside, until the ring shrank so much that the split completed.Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. My grandmother had a split uvula (that's the little thing that dangles from the roof of the back of your mouth), but it was an accident. When she was a little girl she took a fish hook and tried to "catch" that thing with it. She missed with the hook but got it with the point. At least she was a child, though, so her stupidity could be excused.
