When my daughter grows, she will have SOO much Lego.. a shame though that she won't get to play with it (I LOVED that stuff as a kid, and I'd really like to build something with it again )
Bentonville is growing up fast...Reminds me of Carlsbad 25 years ago.
Oh yeah, for those who want to relive their youth with Legos, may I suggest LDraw.org. It's a lot cheaper than buying the bricks, if you know what I mean.
BTW, you may want to check out their Model of the Month. Some of those designs are downright awesome in scope and detail...

From what I've seen of Bentonville the last few years, soon you might want to move back to California to get away from all the people in the "Greater Bentonville Metroplex"

PS when were Leggos invented? I don't remember them from my childhood. (50's)
It was all Erector Sets back then.
Up hill both ways
According to the FAQ for rec.toys.lego, the bricks were first sold in the US in 1961.
I think some of mine are so old that they did not have the round tubular sections in the middle. They didn't stick together as well, as I remember.. now that I think, though, we might have gotten some more lego from a garage sale or one of my parent's friends older kids. I remember when we got my original set though, and the selection was pretty basic. There were no special kits for airplanes or tractors or whatever. Now I don't even know if they sell basic sets like I got.. you know, with a base plate or two and just an assortment of bricks.
