I don't think this sort of thing is aimed exclusively at Republican presidents. The worst example -- even worse than the killer pretzel, or killer errant golf balls, or a president's lust for the Polish people, or a president claiming to millions of Germans that he was a jelly donut -- was Jimmy Carter and THE KILLER BUNNY RABBIT.

Think back. Try to remember the pictures of the President of the United States and his Secret Service protectors beating off the killer bunny rabbit with canoe paddles. Remember the Secret Service's excuses. ("That rabbit was huge!")

The killer scooter will do no political damage. The combination of the Ayatollah and that damn bunny buried Jimmy Carter's chance for reelection. If the Secret Service had access to the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, who knows how the course of history would have turned.

Hey I thought it was funny, and I don't attach any real insignifgance to it.

Even if it is "impossible to fall off", I am sure I could achieve that as well in 5 minutes but I would racing around looking for jumps.

But I don't think it would not be half as funny if it was a photo of me falling off....

Well to tell the truth in the NYC metro news and even on the cable news there hasn't been much of anything on reporting if this happening. I happened to catch it on the early morning news the day I posted this (which I saw on another DG) and posted the picture here. I doubt this will carry much weight in 2004 election Hasn't seen or heard of it since then and I haven't heard any of the late night guys or SNL talk about it either.

But anyway lets enjoy it for what it is....a funny picture of the president

...well, I see a guy ignoring possible ridicule having the guts to get on that thing and have some fun with his Pop. You can be sure Mom said "Watch out son!" and her heart stopped when the thing flipped him. And then they all toodled off merrily together. Presidents, whether you like them or not, are also human beings.
