Back to the real topic on hand... Battlestar Galactica was the bomb back in the day, but that may have been because I was too small to know a crappy show when I saw one. I just remember that all the boys in the family would bully out the girls when it came on so we could watch.
It'll be interesting to see the new version, but I'll more than likely hate. Remakes are RARELY better than the original.

Don't feel fuzzy Corran, the verdict is still out and judging by THIS thread...
Jamm - I think it WAS a stupid show, but stupid in the campy way that so many 70's shows were. And I watched the movie recently (within the past 5 years) and it was still good in that campy way (although the painted backdrops and obvious use of miniatures was fun to laugh at).
At any rate, this remake will likely suck.
The Dune remake wasn't half bad, except that their budget ran out halfway through and they started making drastic script changes to accomodate an accelerated shooting schedule... and then the sets switched immediately from lush and well made to ... painted desert.
I haven't watched "Children of Dune" yet, although I picked it up. I'm afraid...

And of course the Internet will have recorded it off SkyOne in the UK if the colonies cannot wait until January.
Finally we get something first - and so far it has been really well written and tense. Not campy at all.

Apparently SciFi couldn't fund it all on their own, and Sky came through with a lot of cash. Upshot being we get it first, and I don't have to wait for seemingly random periods of time between episodes.
Yay, best thing SkyOne have funded in a loooooong time.
