Well I just got back from seeing the Hulk with some friends....
Firstly, a very very very short clip of the next Marvel movie and it's not the Fantantic Four, or the Avengers, or X-men 3. It will be The Punisher.
Now for the Hulk
Saw it with 5 other buddies, 2 loved it, 2 kind of so so, 1 hated it and the other one fell asleep. I didn't know that he fell asleep because he was the fatherest away from me. Anyways throw out the comic book, this movie has absolutely nothing to do with the Incredible Hulk comic history except for him being green and saying (just once) "Bahh, puny human".
This movie is way different then the other Marvel movies, it really is heavy on the story (and it's a weird one) with the action taking a back seat. Also the movie is filmed like a comic book, with frames and up close in your face shots of the characters during dialogue scenes, which is not a bad thing when Jennifer Connely fills up the screen. She really is a Hottie and sorry no bobbie shots. Also the movie is a little dark, hard to really see sometimes and quiet also. Definitely not your typical loud Hollywood action movie.
Now for the part you are all waiting to read, the CGI Hulk was very well done, ( but you don't see him until about 40minutes into the movie) I was even surprised, and not at all disappointed, a few obvious scenes with the Hulk but not at all distracting or embrassing. Two hours plus a few minutes and I never looked at my watch.
So if you haven't guessed yet, I was one of the guys who loved it.
But thats me. So a thumbs up, but you have to love the story.
Enjoy.
