• Plant shooter took anger management classes

What in the world would posess a company to allow an employee back to work if they had made threats against other employees?
Something like this should just be "One Strike and You're OUT"
The families of the victims are going to own Lockheed Martin by the time this is over.
And they will deserve it.

On the contrary. People like this will always find a way to get guns. However, if some people in the lab had a concealed carry, this whacko wouldn't have gotten very far.

1, People like this will always be able to find a gun.
2, No chance in hell the lab would allow guns inside, permit or not.

The correct answer is: What the F*** were they thinking letting him back in?!

Just take a bit longer and a bit more planning.

No point in discussing guns. The genie has been let out of the bottle here.

Chuck stumbled across a good point. WTF was security?

Not exactly my point.

My point is:
From CNN
Douglas Williams, 48, made "threatening remarks" against a black co-worker in December 2001, said Dain Hancock, the president of the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company. He wouldn't say what the remarks were.

After the incident, Williams was ordered to attend a two-week anger management program at a local outpatient mental health facility, Hancock said. Williams was then cleared to return to work.
If he had been let go when he should have been, there would have been no need of security.

You would think a place which manufactures jet fighters would have at least some security / screening at the doors.. how did he get the gun inside?

Exactly. You would think in a secure environment such as that, security would have noticed him carrying a shotgun!!

He made his first threat a year and a half ago!!!
Why did he even have a job there in 2003?????

My guess is that they have a strong union, which makes fireing a guy alot more difficult than it should be, even if the plant managers wanted him gone.
Yes you are right, a repeat offender of this sort should not be working there.

Why would anyone be given a chance to be a repete offender.
I have seen this sort of thing in other offices that were not union.

This kind of thing has happened so many times you would think workplace threats would always result in immediate termination.

True, but had he been let go, after the first time, he would have had them in court, and all the bleeding heart people on the jury would have had a field day. For companies, there is no way to win.

That's only a theory about what MIGHT have happened.
Would that have been worse than FIVE DEAD PEOPLE?
