There's a bunch of machines here - not all are mine or even in service, but I had at least a hand in naming most of them:

Snorky: My main box, named after the dolphin in the Simpsons Halloween special (a dolphin because its case has a 'blow-hole' fan). I wanted to name it after something with two heads/brains because it's a dual-CPU, but I couldn't think of anything.
Garfield: My old 486 box. No real reason for the name, named after my aunt's cat as well as the cartoon character.
Baobab: old 386/486 gateway machine. Reason for the name is lost to the mists of time.
    Wanderer: Laptop. Obvious.
Kijana: Windows instance running under VMWare on said laptop. It's Swahili for something, I don't know what.
Dishera: Sort-of-Swahili for window. Only computer here without Linux installed on it somewhere.
CharlesAndMambo: Dual-CPU server. Name is obvious if you've seen Duckman.
    Kryten: No real reason.
Blackbox: Not-in-service 486. So named because its case is black.
Gizmo: My sister's computer, not actually here, just thought I'd mention it. Named after the Gremlins character.

I'm surprised no-one is using the good old "Star Wars characters" theme for naming computers that seemed to be endemic in every university computing lab I've ever seen

I think the most unimaginative name a computer ever had that I worked on was "Computer". I hunted for this machine for two months while disinfecting/patching a school's network. I could see the share folders. I saw over a hundred copies of klez but I could not find it.

I've named them all after me, in much the same way George Forman named all his kids George or Georgia.

                              Hobbes (primary)
                              Calvin (secondary)

Like ribbit, I was looking for some dual-cpu matching name (name of a two headed dragon or something like that, but haven't found anything yet)...
