It's just human nature wanting to get lots of free money.
It's the same story with all those "stupid person injures self, sues company for millions" stories.
There's the guy that wanted to sue all the fast food restaurants for "making him fat." I didn't follow that story after I heard it, so I don't know the outcome.
And then there's the lady that sued McDonalds after burning herself with their coffee, and I do believe she won.
Point is, there are lots of stupid people and they'll sue you at the drop of a hat if they think they can get some money from you.
It's sad.McRhea

The Macdonald's one was pretty stupid, but doesn't come close to this.
I believe the story goes:
The person brought the coffee at the drive thru. The lid was not covered properly, and when she was driving, she started drinking, and because the lid was not closed properly, she got burnt.
Nevertheless, maybe drinking when driving is not a great idea... IMO its the same as "talking on cell phone when driving" or the other story of "nursing kid when driving on highway".

Many cases indeed involve real issues, real injuries, and deserve real compensation. And some don’t. That’s why I stress that you should read the cases before you judge. How about, for instance, Stella herself? Much of ... Read more

Thanks for clearing that up Dshumake.
I had never actually read up on the case to find out the facts for myself, and I'm guilty of just listening to bogus stories about it.
Speaking of bogus, on the site that Dshumake posts, there's this page with some bogus stories that were made up.
Bogus stories
Can you tell I like to use the word bogus?McRhea
