Breaking News: Major Power outages in many cities

Right now NYC, Detroit, Ottawa and Toronto are all experancing Major power failures. The airport in Detroit has all its flights cancelled with in the past couple minutes. Turn on your cable news for the lastest as none of the internet news sites have picked up on the story...then again its only happened with in the past 20 minutes

Sounds like it's just a fire in a power station - nothing more serious to worry about...

Unless that is, the turbine, while spinning merrily, leaves its mountings and then lands up in a lake about 2 km away while protesting the sparky getting the resync excercise wrong and slamming the breakers in at about 90 degrees out of phase!

Happened here not too long ago.

Until I see evidence otherwise, I'm just gonna assume that it's a cascading failure. A couple substations blew somewhere critical and it's all being rerouted around the counry triggering other failures. Gotta love our power system.

Where is Tesla when we need him? Oh yeah, dead.
