Post counts, silly as they might be, are part of the fabric of MURC culture here.. the irony of having 5000+ posts in the lounge is not lost on those who have them, no one takes themselves too seriously about it, and I doubt it would really make a dent in the database. The big problem with database size is that the forums have been up for years now.. Dan, why don't you separate the posts dating from before 2002 or so, and then require a paid membership to search those posts? Normal search would work fine as long as the posts aren't over 2 yrs old...

As far as I am concerned, post counts/whoreing mean nothing. The subject matter is what counts, not meaningless dribble (test -icle comes to mind). So if it speeds load time for pages even a little bit, (28.8k dialup here) then I am all for disabling it.

Was that pic intended for me? I don't purposely post to increase my post count (whoring as it's called), nor do I care how many posts I have for that matter. So I have 6000+, big deal, no one cares and no one ever will. It's just stupid number. The only thing my post count reflects is how much I love to post on MURC wether it's "worthless dribble" (as you put it) or not.

I never understood that stupid pic anyways, the only thing that refelcted my penis size is a mirror.

AMEN! Worthless dribble, Is that not the reason TSB, and Lounge were created? Post count means nothing. Alot of us like this "Dribble" as it is a way to pass the otherwise dreary work day. I think I have said this before,
