and get it patched after all your other patches then get a good antivirus and a firewall (suggest -> avg antivirus and zonealarm)

side note : why get a cdrom when u can get a dvd-rom or a cdrw for a bit more ?

Yeah, one from one of those "special" folders will do nicely.

        Kidding, kidding!

A change from this unhappy avatar to a smilie smilie of Liz wouldn't be bad though.

-well i still havent got it sorted yet

when im installing 2000 it stops abd\\nd says that my bios arent updated and that i need to press the f7 key when its asking to install storage drivers. that f7 thing doesnt work. i even went back to compusa and bought a new cd drive too so everything would go smoothly. i even had yhis cute guy ask me out on a date when i went there. weve went out twice since then. turns out he doesnt know anything about computers and doesnt even own one. so that kinda didnt work i was going to make him fix my pc . heh

what motherboard is it you have.. do you have your CDROM / HDD connected to the standard IDE connectors, or the some RAID ones, which often require you to install other drivers upon initial installation.

Keep it simple.. disconnect any other drives other than the one you want to install windows on and the CDROM . make sure they are on the standard IDE controllers.. you can always move your CDROM to an other controller later, but your HDD should stay where you connected it... hope this helps..

Too bad the guy does not know about computers..

When Setup starts again, press F7 when you see the "Press F6 if you need to install a third-party SCSI or RAID driver" screen

jesus, i was pressing it when it said "loading storage drivers"

                  idiot,. lol

                  THANK YOU

ya know what sucks about 2000.....

you dont automatically get all your drivers installed.

hello computer works but network card doesnt

You can always install XP instead and see if it has the driver for it... or you can find the box from the network card, and use the included driver
